run, don't walk...

sunflower market is my new best friend. one of the hard things about accepting the fact that i'm a utahn is the produce here. utah has a short growing season so we're at a disadvantage right from the start. and i grew up with the good stuff...the really good stuff... stuff so good that when i ask my kiddos what mommy's favorite food is they ALL yell "salad!" simultaneously. but this is beside the point...here's my point...

this place has GREAT produce for sometime really crazy cheap prices. even the stuff that isn't on sale is really reasonable. yesterday i made my weekly monday stop down in orem while kiddos were being preschooled and i happened upon some nectarines and peaches. (sidenote: i don't like peaches because they are fuzzy and feel funny on my tongue. but if YOU like peaches, i'd bet that theirs taste yummy too.)

so...i happened upon some nectarines...some regular ones and some white ones. i'd never had white nectarines before, but i knew that white peaches were super sweet compared to regular peaches. ANYWAY (this post is way too long) i ate a white nectarine last night around 10 in my attempts to avoid the not so good for me stuff...it was so good that after my first bite i said, "nuh-uh" as i was standing there alone in my kitchen and THEN i walked my pregnant butt upstairs (one more time than i had to) to give some to jon so he'd know how good they were too. he said the same thing when he ate his piece :)

i've eaten a few more since then and only about 1 in 2 taste as good as the first one i ate, but that's still good odds. so RUN, don't walk and head over to sunflower market to get some. i'm not kidding. they made me so happy i forgot about the other stuff i REALLY wanted to eat.

  4. Sunflower is AWESOME.

On a side note. Costco has the most amazing white peaches that my dad goes bonkers for every year when he come up. They are VERY VERY good.

  5. This comment isn't the least bit original, but here it is: we love Sunflower Market, too. The produce, yogurt-covered pretzels, and fizzy lemonade from France have us hooked for life.

  8. Thanks for the update about your kids. I really do miss them when they are gone for a week, so I am very happy to hear that I will still get to teach them for the summer. You've got some really cute kids. I will need to plan some days to have Isaac just come over to play. I think Connor and him would both enjoy just being able to play and not having to do what I ask them to do for a change.
