we were only about 1 1/2 hours from the coast when we were in portland, so the first day we drove there. we ended up in cannon beach which is close to where "Goonies" was filmed.
here we have jon doing what he does best...both of these pictures actually: taking pictures and being crazy (insert mexican accent). we also saw "Nacho Libre" in portland. now jon always sounds like a migrant worker with a bad accent quoting the movie all day long. "Nachoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!"
here's just us...like all the pictures of us together on the trip, our heads are unnaturally close and someone's face inevitably looks about 10 lbs fatter in an effort to make both of us fit in the frame. we probably gained 10 lbs anyway from all the food we consumed. to the oregonians' credit, they are nice people. jon wanted to take a picture of a family roasting marshmallows on the beach and they complied happily and then asked us to join them. the northwest is a happy, hippy, granola place. god bless 'em.
